I am getting the same error.

Is it on a power xxxx..power entity?

roberthaugen73 avatar Sep 18 '24 15:09 roberthaugen73

Yes. A few of them all similar with energy.

Platform smartthings does not generate unique IDs. ID xxxx.energy already exists - ignoring sensor.caroline_light_energy_meter

I have 4 smartthings devices that provide energy entities, and all 4 are generating this error. I have tried removing one of the devices from smartthings and HA, then adding it under a different name, but the error returns.

There hasn't been any activity on this issue recently. Due to the high number of incoming GitHub notifications, we have to clean some of the old issues, as many of them have already been resolved with the latest updates. Please make sure to update to the latest Home Assistant version and check if that solves the issue. Let us know if that works for you by adding a comment 👍 This issue has now been marked as stale and will be closed if no further activity occurs. Thank you for your contributions.

This is still an issue. It hasn't changed with recent updates.

I can also confirm that this is still an issue with 2025.1.4.

Supposedly this was fixed with the PR below:

Please check if this is still an issue in 2025.3. Available as beta today, or as full release next wednesday

I actually removed the integration as I moved most of my devices directly to Homeassistant, so I can no longer test this.

drdome avatar Feb 27 '25 20:02 drdome

I think I know why, it has been fixed now in 2025.3
