Same issue here. When reverting to a backup with version 2024.1.5, the climate entity is available again. Then the temperature sensor is not available anymore in my case, but that is less an issue because the sensor value is stil shown in the climate card. And the room temperatures here are read out via separate zigbee sensors.

Same issue for me as well. Both my Climate entities (Heating and Water) from my heat pump have gone. MEL Cloud is working fine and reverting to 2024.1.5 didn't help me :-(

petebanham avatar Feb 05 '24 19:02 petebanham

Yep, My controls lost too. I still can see Sensors

Mel cloud working just fine.

ilkka-h avatar Feb 05 '24 19:02 ilkka-h

Yes same here.

Same here. Hope there will be a fix soon…

Schlichi83 avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 Schlichi83

Same here. Tried to re-activate the integration but that just led to the climate-entity missing.

maeklund86 avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 maeklund86

Same problem for me

BaptisteBruneau avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 BaptisteBruneau

Same problem for me. Climate disappeared, but I still have sensors. It it happened suddenly today, after home assistant restart, but my melcloud android app still works.

IgorSimic avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 IgorSimic

I've lost it all now too ! I had the on/off control still but not the temperature sensor, and now, after restart, I lost all control. Even my acces to melcloud with an text " We have detected excessive traffic from your account, your access to the service has been limited for a few hours."

Annoying!!

simonk0606 avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 simonk0606

Same here: no more visibility and control over my 4 Climate entities. No sensors either. The LOG says "This request has been throttled due to an excessive amount of traffic to our service.". Tried MelCloud App and had the same message. Wonder how that could've happend: I just did an update from 2023.12.x (where all was working fine, since months) to the latest 2024.1.6 and everything for MelCloud stopped.

gianpalm avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 gianpalm

@simonk0606 Yes, now I noticed the same message on my App...hope that the "few hours" are not too many. Funny is that on the second HA system I have (Backup), not updated (yet), MelCloud seem to be working fine (same credentials). Quite a mystery for me...

gianpalm avatar Feb 05 '24 20:02 gianpalm

I have the same problem since i update home Assistant from 2023.12 to 2024.1.6.

rabelejo avatar Feb 05 '24 21:02 rabelejo

@gianpalm Weird indeed ! All those connections in for me a little bit magic every time, but sometime it's over magic too ! I don't have backup... I just have to cross my finger 🤞 and hope for bug correction!

As of today around 15:00 CET I run into the same issue. Was already running 2024.1.6 so I think Mitsubishi has upped their security. There also was an update of the Melcloud iOS app a few days ago so this seems the most likely to me.

The reduction of polling can solve this issue but my log shows me a specific endpoint. aiohttp.client_exceptions.ClientResponseError: 429, message='This request has been throttled due to an excessive amount of traffic to our service.', url=URL('https://app.melcloud.com/Mitsubishi.Wifi.Client/EnergyCost/Report')

This endpoint only has new data once a day after midnight and as far as I know is not used by HA at the moment. I think the standard endpoints can be requested every minute. When you leave the app/website open it does the same.

In my opinion the pymelcloud component should only call the endpoints it uses the data from but I expect that will require a bit of a redesign of the component.

I don't have experience with python but willing to assist when needed.

Edit: Also I see that MELCloud is fed with information from the heat pump only every 2 minutes so more than every 2 minutes not needed.

Observing identical behavior on my Home Assistant (HA) setup, comprising Home Assistant 2023.7.2, Supervisor 2024.01.1, and Operating System 10.3. After updating Supervisor to the 2024.01.1 version, I began noticing peculiar readings on MelCloud-related entities.

Assuming due to multiple restarts of HA. And hitting the MelCloud webservice rate-limits. Encountering the same rate limiting issue within the MelCloud app ("We have detected excessive traffic from your account, your access to the service has been limited for a few hours.").

To prevent undesired web service calls, I have temporarily disabled the MelCloud integration. I intend to re-enable it in a few hours to assess the situation.

Additionally, I've reached out to the local MelCloud support for any relevant information. Any updates will be shared accordingly.

DaanDeSmedt avatar Feb 05 '24 22:02 DaanDeSmedt

I had the devices in powered off state since a week(trough Shelly 1pm plus). My account got locked as well. Group control is still working in app/web🤣

I guess Mitsubishi blocked everyone on purpose. No more HA integration?? 😔 as I understood the polling rate isn’t very high.

iamtheeric avatar Feb 05 '24 23:02 iamtheeric

hi, I just re-enabled the melcloud integration. everything is ok, everything works like before

nitrosurf avatar Feb 06 '24 04:02 nitrosurf

Yesterday after core update the same problem. 4 devise no more available, restart HA 3 times... everything bake to normal.

davidsmoker avatar Feb 06 '24 04:02 davidsmoker

Hi, mine is working again too. Yesterday evening I just disabled integration, and this morning i reenabled it.

IgorSimic avatar Feb 06 '24 05:02 IgorSimic

I didn‘t deactivate it yesterday and even after several restarts I‘m still missing the climate entities. Any advice?

Schlichi83 avatar Feb 06 '24 06:02 Schlichi83

Try to deactivate, and leave it until tomorow. It need some time to "settle down", I think.

It works now. But i don't know the reason.

rabelejo avatar Feb 06 '24 07:02 rabelejo

Same problem here since yesterday after the update, also the app is not working due to excessive traffic from the account

Zefke avatar Feb 06 '24 07:02 Zefke

Same issue here. My MELCloud App tells me: "We have detected excessive traffic from your account, your access to the service has been limited for a few hours"
