Hey there @allenporter, mind taking a look at this issue as it has been labeled with an integration (google) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Hi, Can you give explain more about the steps to reproduce in different scenarios? I am confused by this comment: "If I subscribe to the calendar as HTML, the integration works but the calendar does not pull any data"

Do you have a specific HTML or ICS calendar you are testing with that is public?

I'm not able to reproduce this.

I just tested this in google calendar with this calendar: https://www.officeholidays.com/subscribe/usa/california

This is the calendar imported into Google: Google Calendar ICS

And the calendar imported into home asistant Home Assistant ICS

And details from the state machine: ICS Entity State

Thanks, let me test with a few different calendars. I was able to get the ICS subscribed calendar working, it doesn't show up as a different entity in HA but just part of calendar.calendar

@kmanan i'm not sure i follow. An entity is created for each calendar that is part of your calendar list. One thing worth noting is the calendar has to be on your "calendar list" which is described here https://developers.google.com/calendar/api/concepts/events-calendars#calendar_list

Here's a screenshot. From top left of the screen: Home Assistant GCal entities, there's no MK Prov Rop Right of the screen: Google Calendar has an MK Prov calendar (this is an ICS subscription) Bottom left: I can see MK Prov entries in calendar.calendar. (I've titled card manually to be MK Prov)

Weird!

One thing to try to understand:

  1. visit https://developers.google.com/calendar/api/v3/reference/calendarList/list
  2. On the right side "Try this method" click Execute
  3. Find this calendar from the list

What is the name of the calendar returned under summary for this calendar?

{
 "kind": "calendar#calendarList",
 "etag": "\"fdasf2fdsfds\"",
 "nextSyncToken": "fjfjf2r2jr0j0fj0jafa",
 "items": [
...
 {
   "kind": "calendar#calendarListEntry",
   "etag": "\"r23432fdafds\"",
   "id": "[email protected]",
   "summary": "Family",
...

This will let us know if google is returning the right thing or there is another issue.
