Hi @frenck, thanks for the feedback!

Just to clarify: I’m not affiliated with the company Maxxisun and do not use their logos or trademarks. This is an independent, community-driven integration for their hardware, and I created a neutral custom icon to avoid any copyright or trademark violations.

Let me know if this kind of neutral branding is acceptable for non-affiliated integrations – or if you'd recommend another approach. 😊

We don't allow custom brandings in this repository, as we don't want to misrepresent a brand either (which is just as bad). The only accepted branding in this repository is the original branding of the manufacturer.

Hi Frenck,

thanks for the clarification regarding branding in the brands repository.

Just to make sure I understand correctly: If I develop a custom integration (not for an official manufacturer), is there any recommended or supported way to provide a custom icon for it?

Or is it simply not possible at all to display a custom icon unless the integration is official and the manufacturer branding is included in home-assistant/brands?

I'm specifically wondering how I can make my integration show a nice logo or icon in the UI (e.g., in the integrations or device dashboard), without misrepresenting any brand.

Thanks in advance for any pointers!

There is not, sorry.
