Basically a mashup between HA Companion and https://github.com/Ixam97/CarStatsViewer
Describe alternatives you've considered, if any
Use https://github.com/Ixam97/CarStatsViewer and have web hooks send information back to HA server

This has been created as the starting point to integrate Automotive sensors: https://github.com/home-assistant/android/pull/4122
Only existing Auto car sensors are added there, and only in the "full" version (Non-google play) of Hass AAOS, but it's a starting point. After that, I was planning in adding some extra useful sensors, but I guess (Or wish) it will be easier to contribute new sensors after it
Any feedback from google on the chances of making this available for the google play version ?
Find it really odd, keeping my own build and firebase project to support these features
About Google feedback on making a Google Play version, I'd suggest to ask on Discord.
About custom build, you can enable the full app as a flag in code. Or at least that's what I remember since the last time I worked on it. To installe a custom build in your car, you would have to ask your car manufacturer or investigate about the topic; they define the way, if any, to install custom apps (afaik). Or creating a new Google Play app and build it with a different package and all... But I don't know how/if that would work
