vim command- escape key

How does one enter ESC to be able to issue : commands?

The third key from the left on the extra toolbar above the keyboard is Escape. The extra keys are, from left to right: tab, control, escape (large white space) up-down-left-right.

⌘. on macOS and iOS also sends ESC. :)

On german keyboards you can also get out of insert mode by typing <Ctrl-Ä>

Hi, thank you very much for the ⌘. trick. I have been using an iPad with an external keyboard for roughly 10 years, and I found out today.

I found out about two days ago. :) It's apparently been an apple OSes shortcut forever. :)

The most convenient escape for me is Ctrl + [, which seems to be universal. This combination works on both iSH and a-Shell.

On german keyboards you can also get out of insert mode by typing <Ctrl-Ä>

Ctrl-A also works for British keyboard
