vim command- escape key
How does one enter ESC to be able to issue : commands?
The third key from the left on the extra toolbar above the keyboard is Escape. The extra keys are, from left to right: tab, control, escape (large white space) up-down-left-right.
⌘. on macOS and iOS also sends ESC. :)
On german keyboards you can also get out of insert mode by typing <Ctrl-Ä>
Hi,
thank you very much for the ⌘. trick. I have been using an iPad with an external keyboard for roughly 10 years, and I found out today.
I found out about two days ago. :) It's apparently been an apple OSes shortcut forever. :)
The most convenient escape for me is Ctrl + [, which seems to be universal. This combination works on both iSH and a-Shell.
On german keyboards you can also get out of insert mode by typing
<Ctrl-Ä>
Ctrl-A also works for British keyboard
