great, thanks for creating this issue. It feels like there are a few things like this that don't really fit anywhere -- logging, random number generation, crypto functions, system time -- thoughts on organising them under a single category @mattyg ?

Yup, you're right, that PR doesn't resolve it -- I meant to link to https://github.com/holochain/docs-pages/pull/550/files#diff-3b80810f34bef24196aa25c3c181f2d66a80b3d84747b55261833bb9760b96bbR44-R74 . Hoping that adequately addresses the need for logging.
