Is there any way to get comments/meta info to show up in the diagram?

First of all, congratulations on an amazing product!! I love it. So simple and practical! And fills a real need.

Now: is there a way to get comments or other explanations displayed in the diagram (without needing to hover over key spots) - like why a certain table exists or what some integer really means?

Hello, standalone annotation feature for the diagram is already in our road map. For the mean time, you can add comments and explanation inside project, tables or fields element using note (https://www.dbml.org/docs/#note-definition). Also, may I suggest trying out our dbdocs tool: (https://dbdocs.io/) to get a details documentation about everything in your dbml files, including notes.
