This tool has rusted quite a bit due to disuse and my own current lack of interest in creating type - this issue is due to it using GTK2 which - due to paddings and more specificed in pixels and not relative to display resolution / size of body text has a bit of trouble with high PPI displays.

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work at all...it creates empty kerning.plist and doesn't write any kerning information to features.fea. Providing the undocumented -x does write out a bunch to a file though. Is this issue known?

Your last comment, does not seem relevant to the issue of screen pixel density and gtk2 / gtk3.

Kernagic does not write kerning information it writes spacing information, the part of the type design process it aids is adjusting left and right side bearings of glyphs.

Right, I was replying to

While it is shocking to me that a tool named kernagic does not do kerning, I thank you nevertheless for your clarification. For its intended purpose the tool is swell, but unfortunately as it does not do automatic kerning I feel it's inappropriate for my projects at this time.
