Not meaning PHP is not supporting by Linux distributions (Debian and others) anymore, thinking misunderstanding here. Example PHP 7.3 still supported by Debian, SLES, Ubuntu LTS by many more.

Maybe true maybe not true maybe because Ubuntu 22.04 LTS having PHP 8.1 reason (supporting requested by customer paying?). Thinking currently only speculation.
