I have noticed that LibreX stopped being maintained and that hnhx completely disappeared. Anyone knows what actually happened?

Just found this project and it works great. Hope it's still being worked on. I'm finding it works out of the box much better than SearXNG and Whoogle.

Is it still usable as-is? While it'd be great to see a few updates, it's the best privacy-focused self hosted search engine out there. Unless you have other suggestions.

LibreX seems to be completely abandoned at this point. We have been continuing work on the project as LibreY, fixing major issues as well as patching security vulnerabilities. If you are hosting a LibreX instance, i'd recomend switching to LibreY as soon as possible

I am genuinely feeling pain because of their death if true :/ This is a project I loved and used.. I can't imagine someone just dying like that just because of 4chan. it feels weird to see pictures and use software of a person who no longer exists..

We aren't certain if he died or he is just laying low; the latter being much more likely. Its still sad that they had to ditch all this to get /g/ to shut up.

According to a friend on Matrix, they did not die and hnhx is fine.

I guess they wanted to move on and leave "internet stuff" behind, no clue.

What happened on /g/ could someone explain, because I really only know a little about that. I'd like to understand a full scope of this.
