Add dyve agency

Hello,

I'd like to add dyve to the list (I'm an employee). Our company is owned by the team:

Hi @foxtacles !,

awesome to see something I did not know yet from Germany (where I am also based). Our structure sounds unique. Are all employees owners or how is the ownership of your company structured? Or is the company only owned by the foundation you mentioned and who has control over the foundation?

Hi @hng,

the company is exclusively owned by the foundation/trust (a single controlling share is owned by the Purpose Foundation, whose job is to guarantee the immutability of this setup). This is to ensure that the company can not be sold nor be taken over by any third parties, in perpetuity. The trust itself is and must be exclusively controlled by elected employees of the company; however, the trust's only purpose is to make strategic decisions for the company, and is not entitled to any profits, which are always distributed among all employees of the company. Shares of the company itself have no financial/economic value.

I'm not sure if this arguably rare/unique structure (in German: "Verantwortungseigentum") strictly qualifies as a "coop", but we feel it should fall into this category 🙂

Thanks! I know myself that coops ("Genossenschaften") are not as easy in Germany as in other countries, so I think other legal forms are fine (e.g. the list includes a couple GmbHs where all employees are (equal share) owners). But I am not sure I understand the foundation-company structure yet. Does A "purpose foundation" own dyve or is there one "purpose foundation" that owns multiple companies?
