Break component doesn't work on transient signals

In a circuit like this where I asynchronously clear a counter from itself (I know it's bad form to do that in general) the signal going to the break component is just a transient pulse while the tick is propagating and the state is stabilising.

The break component is not catching that pulse but rather requires a stabile high level to be recognised. Not sure if this is a bug/overlook or by design.
