[BUG] Keyboard release on hyprland / wayland

Open kajdo opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Describe the bug

everything seems to work perfectly (controller input from xbox360), resolution, ....

the only problem I face is, that if I start a game - geforce now is forcing me in fullscreen mode and no keyboard shortcuts work (super 'f' / f11, ...).

it's working to game - but if i want to switch to another application while the game is started, I can't

leaving the game puts me back into geforcenow main screen and everything works again

Distro: fedora 40, hyprland Tag: v0.39.1, commits: 4460

beside being extremly happy that the gameplay works - this is somehow really bothering ;)

To Reproduce

start app try os shortcuts (switch workplace etc) -- works start game game switches to fullscreen try os shortcuts (switch workplace etc) -- doesn't work try app shortcuts (toggle fullscreen super f/f11) -- doesn't work

additional info -- ctrl+g works and changing from the geforce menu to "fullscreen off" works as well ... froze on me once - but at least i don't have to kill the app from tty

would be really great if there is a way to get back control of my system during fullscreen itself (change workspace for discord would be a usecase)

Also wanted to ask if this issue is related to mine or not.

I also cannot use those shortcuts, but in my case using ANY keyboard button will make the fullscreen window lose focus and the KDE Plasma Wayland taskbar goes to the top. To return the focus, I need to Alt-Tab back in as just clicking the game's screen won't register the click.

This exact issue has happened to me too, I'm on Zorin OS 17.1 Core and using the flatpak version of gfn.

I do recall a prompt appearing, asking me if I wanted to disable shortcuts or something. I was distracted at the time and I clicked yes without reading first.

I don't know if those things might be related (I started experiencing this issue after this occurred), but again I don't even recall exactl what did I agree to.

Edit: I noticed just now that my system is using wayland. The problem does not occur using x11
