The only places that the timestamp is used in the client is to tell the current user when they last updated their profile picture and to bust the network cache...

@isacikgoz I saw that this was queued for discussion in a server meeting. Is there any update on whether or not we want to continue with this method?

Unfortunately, we still haven't been able to reproduce this issue on our end, so we haven't been able to work on this. As such, we're going to open it up...
