CopyQ ignores my custom hotkey settings
I have configured a keyboard shortcut as shown in the image, but when I press the backslash key (), it triggers the action whether I hold the Control (Ctrl) key or not. I intended to assign the backslash key alone to a different shortcut, but with CopyQ's current behavior, I’m unable to do this. Could you please guide me on how to resolve this issue?
Hello, @aaa1386!
I can't reproduce the bug in the 10.0.0 version of CopyQ on Windows 10, it works as intended.
I suggest you check all the shortcuts for CopyQ ("Global" and "Application"), because you might have assigned a shortcut to only \, or if you are using an older version of the app, you should try reproducing the bug with the latest version.
Hi, and thank you for your great work on CopyQ.
I’m currently using Windows 11 and CopyQ version 10, and I’d like to share something interesting I experienced:
I had an issue with the “Show/Hide Main Window” shortcut. To solve it, I loaded a configuration file that I had previously saved from an older version of CopyQ. After doing that, the shortcut using the backslash key (\) started working properly — even though this key is not shown in the shortcut settings interface, which I found quite strange.
Then I manually set a different shortcut (Ctrl + \) for “Show/Hide Main Window under cursor”, and it worked fine.
Seems like a bug in GUI Qt framework.
You can try to reassign the shortcut in config file:
- Exit CopyQ
- Go to
%APPDATA%\copyqand opencopyq-commands.ini - Look up line with
<NUMBER>\Name=Show/Hide Main Window - Change
<NUMBER>\GlobalShortcut=...line to<NUMBER>\GlobalShortcut=\\ - Start CopyQ again
I have a similar problem on Linux Mint. I can enter a shortcut of Ctrl+Alt+V but CopyQ pops up anytime i press the v key.
Restarting CopyQ server seems to have fixed it.
