evil-snipe-repeat(-reverse) misbehavior when remapped/swapped

What did you expect to happen?

When swapping the keys for evil-snipe-repeat and evil-snipe-repeat-reverse. ; should do backwards searches. , should do forward searches.

What actually happened?

Tapping the key once behaves as expected, every press after the first repeats the snipe as defined by default.

Describe your attempts to resolve the issue

I've tried setting evil-snipe-override-evil-repeat-keys and/or evil-snipe-repeat-keys to nil.

Steps to reproduce

I've remapped the keys using

:n "," #'evil-snipe-repeat
:n ";" #'evil-snipe-repeat-reverse)
