Thanks for the suggestion. I think the same thing about #46 also applies here. Clicking a checkbox is pretty much the same thing as click the X button, so it doesn't make much sense implementing this. I could add a "Remove all" button though.

Or maybe the checkboxes could be implemented, but it would only be actually useful if it would also include a "select all" checkbox. This would be useful for cases when you want to remove most of the items but not all. In this case, it would indeed be more useful than an all or nothing approach.

My idea was to select multiple at a time for removal. This is different from #46 since it is not about adding or removing all at once. If it is not a feature that you think is necessary, no worries.

A select all box is also a great idea however and would be much appreciated.
