Your PS4 might have the "Baikal" southbridge hardware revision. See this table to verify: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Southbridge#Southbridge_revisions_per_chassis

Someone from the psxita team said Ethernet (the wired connection) won't work on Baikal PS4s: https://www.psxita.it/forum/psxitarch-linux-una-distro-per-ps4-t6120-40.html#p45702

Your cheapest option may be to attach a smartphone via USB tethering, if you have a wireless router. The other options are to use your smartphone's mobile data or to buy a Wi-Fi dongle. As I don't know yet which dongles work, I can't recommend any currently. Lists of devices supported by the Linux kernel, like the one I have linked in the tutorial, may provide more info on this. I believe USB Ethernet adapters also exist, but whether those will work is another question.

Should it turn out a dongle you buy doesn't work: With the updated distro file and a smartphone you should have Internet access to download external drivers that are not included in the Linux kernel, if necessary. Here's some info on that: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Network_configuration/Wireless#Troubleshooting_drivers_and_firmware It would be a safer approach to get a device that is known to have its driver included in the Linux kernel, though.

If you want to try a dongle, make sure you use the "Wi-Fi kernel" bzImage file.
