For years JONSIX has been my favorite, and the most capable library for XML<->JSON serialization. I am sad to hear of his demise. Looks like there are 66 forks of this repo - is anyone interested in picking it up?

https://github.com/mitre/jsonix looks to be an active fork, with the latest release in August. Perhaps @mitre could comment on its status and development plans?

Hello @robyngit and others, the MITRE SAF is using our fork of this library with many of the PRs filed against this repo merged in and with some minor cleanup on top. At this time, we do not have major development plans for this repo other than occasionally pushing out a maintenance release with updated dependencies, but plans can change depending on need. In the meantime, we welcome PRs from the community for any bugfixes or improvements.
