Custom LMAX Values

Open thefiredragon opened this issue 4 years ago • 17 comments

Dear all, I noticed under your pnlf.dsl presets for custom values, My Ice Lake machine uses a higher value as 0xfff as max lmax. My main display is to dark to work with it and would like to fix it. Under Linux my Max Brightness is 96000 (0x17700) So I think I can't easy change in your code 0xffff to 0x17700?

best Regards

I will add a boot argument to set custom PWMMAX.

I will add a boot argument to set custom PWMMAX.

if he uses the kext AppleBacklightSmoother, the brightness always works but the maximum value is lower than the real one, which I get by not using the kext, but occurs when he does not use the kext that the pc starts up without screen backlight and after 3 minutes of blow activates and works

Okay thats different issues, I have too low brightness with only whatevergreen and with applebacklightsmoother Perhaps custom pwmmax would solve this, perhaps we would have luck

AppleBacklightSmoother-1.0.3-RELEASE.zip

Please test this. You can set custom PWMMAX via boot-arg igfxpwmmax

@Lorys89 Check under linux which default values you have, under /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/ your max pwm value

I've tried but it's not working well, I tried to create a debug log, but my machine won't start with opencore and 67 target value to debug and logging to file, is there a other way to create a log or get logging after boot?

Not yet. I thought the problem might be the maxium light value increased by keyboard function key is only to 0xCC5C instead of 0xFFFF.
