Purging stale issues and PRs

In an effort to clean up the repo I went through all issues of the last few months + any older issue that showed some importance, judging by the amount of upvotes or comments. I've either answered and closed them or added a label for further discussion.

I suggest we close all others. That would be all issues or PRs that are older than say 6 months and don't show significant importance as defined above. (All unlabeled issues/PRs older than 6 months.)

Yes, I agree. Let's close all stale PRs/Issues and reference this issue.
