As far as I can tell, we don't talk about the typechecker at all in the docs set (aside from TL;DR stuff for overview pages). As such, there's not anything suitable to link to that's not just a general overview of the typechecker, and the man page also seems to be 7 years out of date. I think it would probably be best to create a TL;DR of common options and modes. Should also clarify that the typechecker checks the entire project, not individual files.
