It seems like the gitignore is harmless, although ironically might be in the same vein as his xz exploit in 5.6.0/5.6.1.
Yes, this seems to require `flask~=1.0`. This is particularly annoying because it will silently give 400s for everything with no exceptions or logs.

Interesting. Maybe we should have some kind of logger function? Not sure how to best handle this, or if we should ever close stdout.
