Ouch. The global hotkey functionality implemented in Electron seems to be a mess on Linux (https://github.com/electron/electron/issues/42573). Heynote 2.6.2 upgrades to the latest version of Electron and it contains a fix for a bug that makes the program unusable on the latest version of Mac OS - so unfortunately downgrading Electron is not really an option.

I'd love to be able to fix it but at the moment I don't know how, so it could be that you need to use an external program to set up a global hotkey for Heynote :(. Or use an older Heynote version :/.
