Servers supporting linking to other server implementations is rather rare these days. To quote from https://modern.ircdocs.horse/#overview

Various server to server protocols have been defined over the years, with TS6 and P10 among the most popular (both based on the original client-server protocol). However, with the fragmented nature of IRC server to server protocols and differences in server implementations, features and network designs, it is at this point impossible to define a single standard server to server protocol.

Linking to inspircd is especially idiosyncratic, so if that is what's implemented, I doubt it would work with any other server.

I know, but I want to link with an existing network that's all inspircd. I'm assuming it'll buy some amount of TS6 scaffolding that can be reused to support more ircds / linking etcdircds across etcd clusters...
