chromebook_oak: misc: when mesa 24 comes around, will 3d acceleration work on the mt8173?

I read somewhere that mesa 24 added powerVR support, is it true?

as far as i know it will initially only support some texas instruments based soc, but at some point in time hopefully also the gpu in oak ... also it is important to note that it will only support vulkan, so for opengl/gles zink will be required as well to translate to that.

will it result in a smoother desktop? I don't know much on gpu drivers. I also thought i read that it would support the GX6250.
