There is couple things that I was missing.

Would be helpful to include prune to instructions as well:

borg prune -v                       \
    --list                          \
    --show-rc                       \
    --keep-last=60                  \
     $REPOSITORY                    \

And for first time it is good to use this command to see what is really happening without destroying wrong backups: --dry-run
