Ship package via repository

TL;DR

I saw that this package is manually installed on Hetzner VM instances, e.g. AlmaLinux 9. It would be nice to have a proper repository for this.

Expected behavior

The repository could be extended with a RPM spec file and a Debian build file for the supported instant-on VMs: Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Rocky Linux, Alma Linux and CentOS Stream. Building the packages could be easily automated using GitHub actions. As Hetzner mirrors some of the operating system repositories (e.g. Ubuntu), it should be easy to host a little "Hetzner tools repository" - what do you think?

Big +1 from me, on Ubuntu 24.04 it will come up as obsolete when running apt list '~o'

So we accidentally deleted the package with apt purge '~o' causing some private networking to stop working.

How will we ever receive (security) updates for this package?

+1, running into this now with the upgrade to Debian Trixie. Looks like the Debian part has not been updated in years, and it would be nice to know if that's due to neglect, or if it just has not been needed.

+1 from me too.

Looking at https://packages.hetzner.com/hcloud/deb/ I can see that there's a newer release (0.0.7) compared to what has been installed on a freshly created Debian Trixie cloud server (0.0.5).

Besides that there hasn't been a change within this repo since the last two years, I've got no idea, what has been changed, if the change is something I want and if the newer package includes the things from within this repo.
