Best HW configurations required for Worst-case scenario

Open ashokhs77 opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

Hi All,

What is the best configuration (in terms of number of CPU cores, ROM and RAM requirements) that has worked for a possible worst case scenario like 1000 connected users with 50 concurrent users?

What is the benchmark here? How these requirements scale up with change in the user numbers?

Can anyone who has used it extensively used this docker give answers..?

Thanks & Regards, Ashok

Here is my two cents

For srsRAN_Project gNB, here is a post which talks about 840 UEs connected to gNB while running on i7-13700k-32GB RAM - https://github.com/srsran/srsRAN_Project/issues/730

You could potentially run open5gs on the same machine in my opinion.

Thanks, but I am not using srsRAN and my current requirement is with LTE (where I use my own eNB). And as of now I am seeing issues with 30+ UEs attached, mme crashes quite often.

and in case of Volte, beyond 7/8 pairs, there is an inconsistency in call setup due to SIP/2.0 408 Request Timeout.

So wondering what could be the issue.

And the above 30+ UE mme crash issue is seen only on docker_open5gs and not with plain open5gs or open5gs+pyhss combinations.
