Causing crashes on newest Firefox Windows 11 version (143.0-1)

Open franharrington opened this issue 3 months ago • 1 comments

OS version: Windows 11 Home Browser version: 143.1 Extension version: 0.31 Bridge version:

Description Firefox started crashing after the update to 143.0, the only common thing we could determine amongst users experiencing this was the use of this plugin. (https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/1nkclp3/firefox_1430_64bit_windows_11_keeps_crashing/)

Steps to reproduce

  1. The crashes appear random. I haven't been able to pinpoint a single cause other than having the extension turned on. Disabling it has stopped the crashes.

Expected behaviour No crashes

All I can think of that might cause this is some incompatibility with the older versions of the dependencies (Node.js/Bonjour) on Windows 11. If that's the cause, the real fix here is to reimplement service discovery with the newer native mDNS APIs instead of relying on Bonjour, but that's not something I'm going to be doing any time soon, so I'll add a note to the README saying Windows 11 isn't supported for now.
