[Question] Why some apps are not showing?

Open laniakeadev opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

In the "Apps" tab I cannot see all the apps for some reason. I had opened some apps after opening Simplewall, but they don't appear in "Apps" folder. These apps like Telegram and Fork (Git client). To show the app in "Apps", I have to search it in "Connections" and click "Show in list", but there are no "fork" connection for example.

App version: 3.8.4 Windows version: 10

simplewall_error.log

There's no such a file.

I've restarted the app and disabled-enabled filters, the "Packets log" is totally empty

you can press "Show dropped packets log packets (session only)" in toolbar and what do you see in "Log" tab?

The tab is empty simplewall.log contains logs just related to one app connections that have been started for the first time, like "Internal\BlockRecvAccept","#86417","Inbound","Blocked"

I think I have a problem much like the one above. Using Wndows 11 64bit, simplewall 3.8.6 64bit in portable mode.

It was working fine before disabling filters. After disabling and re-enabling filters, new apps that use the network do not appear in the Apps tab anymore and simplewall does not show the notification window for them. Now everything is free to access the network.

I do not have a simplewall_error.log. Packets log tab is empty. Enable packets notification is active.

At this point, I have no idea why simplewall does not function as a firewall anymore.

Update

I managed to make simplewall act as as a firewall again by deleting the following files: profile.xml profile.xml.bak simplewall.ini For now I can't figure out which one of them was the culprit.
