[HIP-0024] i18n follow-up
Follow-up after https://github.com/helm/helm-www/pull/1802 is merged.
I do not think this should hold up the new Docusaurus site launch, but we can discuss that on a Helm dev meeting. For now not adding to the site launch milestone.
- [ ] This PR brought over the translations we already had and then some, but of course we should get native speaker eyes on these and the translations are all at varying stages of incompleteness. Perhaps we can help coordinate an initiative of folks who speak each language who can help.
- [ ] The
4.0.0-alpha.1 🚧version label in the navbar versions dropdown only appears in English - all other languages say "Next". - [ ] Proper nouns are left in English, such as "Kubernetes" and "Helm"
- [ ] We should note this in our documentation page / Contributing guide for criteria for helping with translations
- [ ] I did notice that "Charts" is sometimes left in English, and sometimes not (see v2 docs sidebar, the 4th link down is "Charts" and it's sometimes translated)
- [ ] This appears to be inconsistent on the live site, so we can't use that to make the call
- [ ] Question - do we want to translate "Charts" or leave in English? Where do we draw the line? For example should helm "Releases" also be English, or is it fine to translate "chart" and "release"?
- [ ] This appears to be inconsistent on the live site, so we can't use that to make the call
- [ ] I think this one should be made into a separate issue and raised at the weekly Helm dev meeting, and we can update later based on community feedback.
For the proper nouns question, we could consider using the Helm glossary as the reference: https://helm.sh/docs/glossary/
As in, which of these terms should be translated or left in English? Is it "all or nothing" when it comes to translating these terms, or do we need to consider each one individually?
