Will this project check if the generated manifests are valid Kubernetes resources? Or would we still need the api server running to make that happen?

chart-testing can lint and/or install/test your charts.

Does the install require a kubeconfig to run? Who is the lint different than the already provided helm lint? Related https://github.com/helm/chart-testing/issues/241
