@louies0623

  • I don't know where you have that AppImage from
  • I don't know which fonts that AppImage needs
  • I don't know whether the AppImage actually contains the fonts it needs
  • I don't know whether you have tested this on Linux and whether it works there
  • I don't know whether this is a helloSystem related issue

Do you have this font installed on helloSystem? What happens if you install it?

I don't know yet whether fonts installed on FreeBSD are visible to applications running in the Linuxulator. So please try it out. Thanks!

Do you have this font installed on helloSystem?

no VirtualBox_PC-2_01_08_2023_22_24_46

What happens if you install it? https://www.freshports.org/x11-fonts/noto

I tried installing noto font but it didn't work to change the font.

So possibly the Linuxulator does not see fonts that are installed on the FreeBSD side. We would need to ask some Linuxulator expert like @trasz.

Could it be that when the software displayed missing characters, the system did not switch to the font with no missing characters?

louies0623 avatar Aug 03 '23 16:08 louies0623

Possibly. (Normally it does that, at least on the FreeBSD side. But I suspect that the Linux side of the Linuxulator doesn't know about the fonts on the FreeBSD side.)

i think that's the problem.
