Feature request: Helio as VST plugin.
Hi,
i'm experimenting with eg Kushview Element (VST HOST only, modular design) a lot but it lacks of a Midi Sequencer. It would be absolutely great if there comes a VST version of Helio workstation near future!
Any plans like that?

Hi, I believe the code changes should be minimal to make it work, however more builds == more maintenance overhead. I won't be using this app as a plugin, so I clearly won't have time for that.
If anyone else is willing to test and support several new builds (VST/AU/AAX/whatever), I'd be happy to help setting up projects and updating CI pipelines.
Testing yes, support ehhm, i'm a Web Developer! :( Hope anyone else is willing to do this job. After research off many VST archives i doesn't find a modern 64bit plugin that comes nearly to a good bread and butter sequencer plugin. Mostly completely outdated or buggy!

Yes! For instance, there is no high level sequencer or timeline editor in Max. Helio as a VST in Max would just perfectly fit!
I think this might be something I am able to do. The biggest challenge will be to tie-up the host transport information to helio internal one. The code seems quite clean and well split, so a plugin version does not even have to duplicate code. No idea when I will have time for such thing though.
This could also tie in with #139 and #173 and possibly the Midi Output Channels bit of #29

I am also very interested in using Helio as a VST3/AU plugin. As far as I can tell, there aren't currently any audio plugins that can even do simple midi sequencing without being excessively unstable, and judging by the sheer number of features that Helio has, this would be an incredible audio plugin to have.
I noticed that the "Third Party" folder contains a fork of JUCE. Is the project editable/buildable via JUCE? If so, then (on paper) all it would take is some minor code changes to build Helio to audio plugin.
I might mess around with the source code a bit and see what I find.
Any progress or motivation from anyone to put Helios as VST or CLAP plugin out?
