Saved templates do not open up properly in new projects.

I'm finding that my Realearn Template does not come online properly when I try to open it. I'm using a Midi Fighter twister for controlling the sends of whatever track is currently selected. I find that I either have to edit each mapping by checking or unchecking the "Prevent Echo Feedback" or the "Send feedback after control." I've tried every combination with these check boxes but the result is the same. Any help is appreciated.

What do you mean by "come online"?

Hello helgoboss. So I will try and clarify the issue. So lets say I open a new project and want to insert my finished Realearn template, I can see that everything looks good in the plugin and I can also see the yellow midi signal indication on the armed track. But the plugin won't respond unless I edit each mapping individually. Once I edit each mapping it will then work across all the tracks like I want it too. I should also say that I am also trying to map the buttons on the Midi Fighter Twister to toggle-mute each send. I did just recently notice the little sad face : ( next to the button mappings. I am guessing that maybe it could be related. I will try removing the button mappings when I get a chance and I'll save a new template to see if it helps.

I'm going to need the RPP file and/or the "ReaLearn template" (do you mean a track template!?) and detailed instructions on what you do.

I don't know what you mean by "sad face". Can't remember having to have built anything like that into ReaLearn. Screenshot would be good.

REALEARN.zip I have been trying to use a track template in this case. Screenshot (8)_edited 2

I haven't had the time yet to check out your project to investigate why there's no response without first adjusting the mapping each time (that's very strange indeed).

But some comments:

  • You edited the Twister controller preset. Why? It shouldn't be necessary to change the controller preset once you follow the controller-specific instructions in the user guide. The only thing you usually need to adjust is the main mappings.
  • Your controller mappings now have real targets instead of only virtual ones, which is possible and has its use cases but is an absolute exception. Could even be the reason for why it doesn't work because this is something I don't test that often (... that would be a bug).
  • You adjusted the controller preset in a way so that it uses the "Toggle-only button (avoid!)" source character. This character is a workaround for controllers that have buttons that toggle between on and off and can't be configured to work as momentary buttons (which are always better). For the Midi Fighter Twister this is absolutely not necessary and it just makes things worse. Please consult the user guide for details.
