Example hardware this would control?

I've looking for a hardware pid for brewing where I could set target and read temp, but I'm excited to see I may just be able to write the controller myself.

Could you give an example of the hardware down the line you are controlling? I'm unsure what you could send the less than full power values to, which would handle the appropriate duty cycle for the heating element.
