write_oas() gets killed

Hello, thank you for the awesome library!

I am running through an issue where I try to write oas files for big layouts, it is either extremely slow and gives me an error when trying to load it in Klayout, or it gets killed by Ubuntu. write_gds() works like a charm though, but I need to save my files in oas format.
