This is interesting. I'm using the same draw.io in VS Code that powers the website. Would be interesting to know how this issue looks like in Draw.io desktop.
You can link already to arbitrary code, by using the "link node to code" command. Your suggestion sounds still useful. It would require access to the global search api though.

I think this should be doable. Unfortunately it needs a spell check service...
