Open Windows' Event Viewer, check Windows Logs > Application and see if there is any significant event in the list that may mention error reporting and/or have details in the bottom pane that reference UnleashedRecomp.exe.

Also, if you have any anti-virus or other security software , check their logs and make sure they're not sandboxing or crashing the app. I have Windows Defender, no issue with it so far, didn't even need to run as admin.

Sorry to jump in the conversation but I checked my event viewer and yes there was the application error for it. Now what T-T

Just want to jump in to say that by running the windows compatibility troubleshooter, pressing "try recommended settings" and then pressing "Test the program" I am able to launch the installer, however I'm unable to actually install any of the files inside of it. idk whats going on

Update: What fixed it for me was uninstalling Prio. When i looked in the windows event viewer report i didnt see any other dlls, but then i went to AppData\Local\CrashDumps and when i looked at the file it showed a dll file associated with prio.

ok so what are we supposed to do with the files in dmp?

Attach any crash dumps named UnleashedRecomp.exe.*.dmp here and I can take a look at them later to determine the cause. You may need to put them in a *.zip file in order to upload them to GitHub.

It's not unlikely that most of these cases are related to using third-party tools that do some weird DLL injection that causes issues on launch.

@Chihiroa11y Your CPU does not support the AVX instruction set and is not supported.

i suspected it was something along those lines but i didnt expect the program to just straight up not even try to open

Can you try this build and see if you can open it now?

no

Goodboyzoom avatar Mar 06 '25 23:03 Goodboyzoom

@Goodboyzoom This build does not change the hardware requirements, if you have unsupported hardware, it will not boot.

Closing, unclear whether OP has solved it.
