Error after calling leaderGuide in vim 8.2

I'm mapped to <Space>

Since upgrading to vim 8.2, when calling leaderGuide, i get

Error detected while processing function leaderGuide#start_by_prefix[19]..<SNR>17_start_buffer[9]..<SNR>17_create_string:
line   10:
E118: Too many arguments for function: 1
E702: Sort compare function failed

After the error the guide pops up normally.

The only time I can get the leaderGuide to work is when it's empty, or when it has only one mapping in it (regardless of what the mapping is).

I had a look at a few forks, but it doesn't look as if anyone else has come across this.
