I broke dpkg by trying to install an incompatible tweak. I fixed it, however, whenver I try to load NewTerm3, I'm greeted to the below screen. SSH still works, so why not NewTerm? Thanks!

I fixed this by installing an iOS 15-compatible terminal on my iPad. I'm still leaving this issue open as this is still something that should be fixed.

NewTerm 3 is iOS 15 compatible, that was the purpose of it being released. What jailbreak are you using? Can you try running login -fp mobile in ssh/another terminal - what happens? This is the command that might be failing.

It worked before on iOS 15. Like I said in my OP, this started after I installed a corrupted tweak (vnodebypass). I am using Palera1n on an iPad 6. Weirdly enough, SSH still works and I was able to use both PuTTY and even iSH for my terminal; stranger still is that I installed a iOS-15 modified version of NewTerm 2 from Nebula's Repo and that works just fine.

What jailbreak are you using? Can you try running login -fp mobile in ssh/another terminal - what happens? This is the command that might be failing.

I haven't tested anything on 16.4 yet but it worked on 16.3.1 as long as you have updated system-cmds.

Install system-cmds deb file from this link, it fixed this issue even though it's an downgraded version. I'm on palera1n rootful iOS 16.4.1

Palera1n rootless, ios 15.7. Same issue. I can confirm that login -fp mobile returns an error code of 1. Running login without -f gives an error even when using the right password. I fixed the error by reinstalling system-cmds (currently 950-2); NewTerm works fine now.

Even with root:wheel and 0755, I still have session ended error on palera1n v2.0.0 beta 6 rootless.

Reinstall system-cmds fixed it for me.

Make sure you have gettext-localizations installed.
