scooping lava from a cauldron with stacked empty buckets in hand will delete the cauldron

One of my staff noticed this today, they were scooping lava out of cauldrons at a lava farm, and if they were holding 2+ empty buckets in a stack, the lava would be scooped into 1 of the buckets and leave the other bucket empty as expected, but the cauldron itself completely disappeared.
