Legacy Support for 1.6.4 Minecraft?

Please consider adding backwards compatibility for legacy versions of minecraft :)

According to this: https://wiki.vg/Server_List_Ping#1.6 Infrared will only be able to support 1.7+ with the current implementation. Version 1.6 requires a different implementation and every version below 1.6 would just not work. Maybe 1.6 will be implemented, but versions below that are missing vital information in their handshake packet.
