feature request: offline maps.
It would be fantastic if there were offline maps. mapforge or osmand maps files would be great.
Thanks for the suggestion, that sounds like a quite reasonable feature. However don't expect results soon (my time it very limited at the moment).
Maybe you can use some of the code from here to speed things up, when you have time

to work offline, I ask you to make it possible to select the area of the map that you want to upload. this saves space and allows you to quickly load only the desired area. all map scales in the selected area are uploaded to the phone.
