Commons image file description not available for jurors in Round 1
In round 1, the description of the photograph is not included with the picture, so as a juror I am constantly wondering "what am I looking at?"
Description on the Commons file page:
Description of the same photograph in the Montage campaign:
Wasn't that by design? I should look back at the design of the tool, but i thought we didn't want to bias the jurors. It's probably also not trivial to extract the description from the unstructured content in a robust way. Sometimes these descriptions contain all kind of details that we're not interested in.
As alternative (if this is a feature we would want), it might be possible to extract the 'depicts' from structured data?
In the first voting round, you can leave the cursor on “Commons page”; you will then see the name of the photo in the link at the bottom of the browser. You can make your choice using the up and down arrow keys. If the photographer has chosen a good name for the photo, you will immediately know what it is about.
