Add benchmarks

There is an isolated benchmark/bench.hs file that could be included as a bench stanza of the cabal file.

Actually it couldn't. Criterion depends on statistics and that trips up cabak. One workariund is to put benchmarks into separate package like I recently did for mwc-random

Recently criterion-measurement was split out of criterion https://hackage.haskell.org/package/criterion-measurement , and it doesn't depend on statistics. There are a couple things missing from it though , such as an analogue of defaultMain and something to analyze the results.
