Hi all -- I'm surprised to see this project drifting into oblivion after so many projects depend on it? ... as an amazing OSS infrastructure pioneer, I'd expect Hashicorp to do a better job maintaining this small and simple lib.

It's not dead, no. Generics support has been proposed in PRs but awaiting changes. From my read of 105 it sounded like Istio was going to propose a fix upstream here?
