Improve compatibility with XULRunner applications

XULRunner apps are not required to have tabs, so add a fallback to connect to the application as a whole.

Let's have a separate method for getting the global actors.

Sometimes in Firefox the tab list is empty and we want to know that instead of getting the global actors.
